Through Their Eyes: Honoring the Stories of Ukrainian Children

Something extraordinary happened.

We gathered for the premiere of “Through Their Eyes”, a project created in partnership with director Nora Jaccaud and the Ukraine Volya Foundation. It was not just a film screening — it was a moment of collective witnessing. We opened a space for the emotional truth of Ukrainian children living through war, and the room held those stories with compassion and courage.

We are deeply grateful to our speakers:
• Nora Jaccaud, whose cinematic sensitivity brought these portraits to life
• Dr. Oksana Yakushko, whose psychological insight gave language to children’s invisible wounds
• Gillian Huebner, who helped us understand the systemic impact on an entire generation

Your voices elevated this conversation to a place of real meaning.

Thank you to Ukraine House for hosting us with warmth and professionalism.
And to every person who came — thank you for listening with open hearts. Your presence was felt. Your empathy matters.

These four children — Angelina, Maksym, Kostya, and Masha — carry stories that break us open and remind us why our work continues. Their resilience is powerful, but no child should have to be resilient in this way.

At Ukraine Volya Foundation, we remain committed to supporting their emotional healing, restoring safety, and preserving their childhood in every way possible.

Thank you for standing with us.
For witnessing.
For caring.
And for choosing to be part of the healing journey for Ukrainian children.

This is only the beginning.
